ONALASKA, Wisconsin (WXOW) Onalaska Mayor Joe Chilsen will run again, but this time as a write-in candidate. He made that announcement from Onalaska's City Hall.
Chilsen made that decision following a challenge to his nomination papers by mayoral candidate Jack Pogreba. Pogreba argued that Chilsen failed to include his address on two nomination papers. Once those papers were excluded, Chilsen fell below the 200 signature benchmark required to run. In this discussion, Chilsen talks about how those addresses were left off the papers, the challenge of running as a write in, why he wants to run and the priority for the new mayor.
We have extended an invitation to Chilsen's challenger, Jack Pogreba, for an interview on the race.
