There's been a changing of the guard at the top of the Coulee Conference.
The G-E-T girls now own sole possession of first place after Thursday night's 66-63 win at West Salem.
It was West Salem's first loss in conference play.
G-E-T is now 10-1 in the Coulee and needs to beat Westby next week to clinch a tie for the title.
"I think we all work together. We're one family. It's awesome that we can have teammates like this that can help each other out. When one person is down we're picking them up. We're working our offense. Everyone knows what they're supposed to do when they're on the court and it's awesome," said senior Madison Doerr.
"At the beginning of the year, if you would've said you'd be able to compete this late in the season for a conference title, a lot of people would've overlooked G-E-T. It's a credit to the girls on how they've jelled together," said head coach Rick Schmidt.
The Red Hawks are the defending Coulee Conference champions after going 12-0 in conference last season.
