Eau Claire, WI (WXOW) - -

It will come down to the regular season finale on Saturday.

UW-La Crosse failed to clinch the WIAC title after losing 64-57 at UW-Eau Claire Wednesday night.

It's the Eagles second straight loss.

UW-L trailed 33-28 at the half but went on an 11-0 run to take the lead mid-way through the second half.

The game was tied at 54 when the Blugolds went on a 10-0 run to seal the deal.

Devin Yurk led the Eagles with 19 points and Ben Meinholz had 11.

Jack Martinek had 17 to lead Eau Claire, who out-rebounded UW-L 38-27.

"I just thought we got a little out of rhythm on offense.  I thought we had it back when we got back in the game and took the lead.  Ultimately, it comes down to making plays and they made some plays down the stretch and we couldn't capitalize on.  Obviously, that puts a lot of pressure on you overall," said UW-L head coach Ken Koelbl.

The Eagles loss coupled with a win by UW-River Falls leaves both teams tied for first in the WIAC at 9-4.

UW-L will host Stevens Point Saturday as they try to clinch their first conference title since 1965.
