The UW-La Crosse Women's track team is looking to repeat after winning their first national title since 1984 last year.
14 individuals and two relays have qualified for this year's NCAA Div. III Outdoor National Championships.
Leading the way is Bria Halama, the defending national champ in the triple jump.
The senior from independence is hoping to cap off her brilliant career in style this weekend.
"It's my favorite event. We're going to get it going right away on Saturday morning. So it's going to be the first thing I do, so I'm really excited about that. Last year I had such a huge PR (personal record) at the national meet. Just that adrenaline and excitement carried me into a really big mark. I'm really excited to see what I can do this year," Halama said.
"Bria, from the time she transferred here, she's been great. When you come from a division one to a division three some things change. She's handled it really, really well. Ever since she's stepped foot on our track she'd been a really good leader," said head coach Pat Healy.
Halama transferred from Minnesota.
She also qualified for nationals in the 400 meters and the 4 by 400 meter relay.
The national meet is set to begin Thursday in Waverly, Iowa.
