Viroqua, WI (WXOW) - -

Shayne Swadley, 22, of Readstown, Wisconsin appeared in Vernon County Court on June 1, accused of stabbing a woman because he "wanted to see what it felt like."

Swadley is now charged with one count of attempted first degree intentional homicide and a count of reckless injury.

Authorities say Swadley and the victim, 45-year-old Christine Mazilauskas, had no prior confrontation before the attack.

Currently Swadley is in the Vernon County Jail, on a $100,000 cash bond.

The Vernon County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that the woman stabbed last week is now in stable condition.

45-year-old Christine Mazilauskas of De Soto was stabbed in the neck area multiple times.

Investigators suspect alcohol and meth were factors in Shayne Swadley, 22, stabbing Mazilauskas.
