(AP) - The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources approved a request Wednesday to pull millions of gallons of water daily from Lake Michigan to serve a new Foxconn Technology Group manufacturing plant, helping the Taiwanese electronics giant clear a major regulatory hurdle. Foxconn expects to begin construction on a $10 billion flat-screen plant in Mount Pleasant within weeks.
MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee County judge says a registered sex offender must be allowed to visit his severely ill 9-year-old son over the objections of Wisconsin Children's Hospital. MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee television reporter charged with a felony for allegedly hitting another reporter at a Brewers baseball game is no longer with the station. WITI-TV reported in a story about its reporter Adair "A.J." Bayatpour pleading not-guilty to substantial battery Tuesday that he "no longer works" for the Fox affiliate. Bayatpour is accused of hitting a reporter from another Milwaukee TV station during an argument at Miller Park on April 6 during a Brewers game against the Chicago Cubs.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A woman is back in custody after escaping from the Ellsworth Correctional Facility last week. Green Bay police say 36-year-old Christine Abel was arrested in an apartment Wednesday. Abel, who is from Green Bay, escaped from the minimum-security facility in Racine County last Thursday and apparently stole a pickup truck near the prison. The stolen pickup was recovered in Green Bay on Monday.
