Replicas of the 'Nina' and 'Pinta' are set to dock in Winona.
The ships made famous by Christopher Columbus will be open for public viewing on Wednesday, June 29. The 'Nina' and 'Pinta' will remain docked at the Levee Park, 65 East Front Street, until their departure on July 6.
By making stops nationwide with the 'Nina' and 'Pinta', the Columbus Foundation aims to educate the public on the type of ship, the "caravel", that Columbus used to discover a new world.
While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Admission charges are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, and $6.00 for students ages 5-16. Children 4 and under get in for free.
The ships are open everyday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. No reservation is necessary.
