The La Crosse Loggers committed five errors on their way to a 16-6 loss to the Express in Eau Claire Monday.
The game started out with the fireworks from the Loggers on this July 4th holiday.
Griffin Conine and Cullen Large hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning to give the Loggers a 2-0 lead.
But Eau Claire scored three runs in the first thanks to a couple of Logger errors.
They also scored three in the fourth inning and eight runs in the fifth to put it away.
Ten of the Express 16 runs were earned.
La Crosse falls to 16-17 on the season while Eau Claire stays in the first half North Division title hunt.
Same two teams play Tuesday night at The Lumberyard.
It will be the final game of the first half of the season.
