Blake Stockert worked six scoreless innings and the Willmar Stingers threw a combined 4-hit shutout Friday to beat the Loggers 6-0.
La Crosse (1-2, 18-21 overall) drops to two games behind the North Division-leading Stingers (3-0, 21-18) in the Northwoods Leagues second half standings.
Connor Wollersheim matched Stockert the first five innings, but ran into trouble in the sixth. Travis Wacker led off with a solo home run before Danny Mayer added a two-out single to center to make it 2-0.
Chad Dullnig then came on in relief of Wollersheim and surrendered three earned runs while only recording one out. Eddie Estrada capped the four-run sixth inning with a two-run homer to right center.
Grant Fennell led the Loggers with two hits.
The series continues Saturday evening at Copeland Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
