Winona, MN (WXOW) - -

UPDATE: One of the two men accused of the murder of Adam Fort in Winona in 2015 receives a long prison sentence for his role in the crime.

Reginald Burnett, 19, will serve nearly 22 years in prison after his conviction on charges of aiding and abetting second degree murder and assault.

Burnett made a plea deal in July. Both the prosecution and the defense recommended a 21 year, 9 month sentence in state prison for Burnett to the judge. That was the sentence handed down by Judge Nancy Buytendorp Thursday in Winona County Court.

Burnett, along with 23-year-old Lonnie Hudson, were indicted for murdering the 31-year-old Fort on October 18, 2015. Burnett and Hudson allegedly barged into an apartment in Winona and demanded money from Fort.
