La Crosse's Nick O'Keefe hauled in three bass weighing 11 pounds Saturday to win the FLW Bass Fishing League's tournament on the Mississippi River.
It is the school teacher's first career win in 14 tournaments, according to the league's website.
Holmen's Jimmy Johnson finished third with a total of 10 pounds 11 ounces. William Schultz of Viroqua finished fourth with a three-fish total of 10 pounds 10 ounces.
The Great Lakes Division of the Bass Fishing League has five tournaments throughout the year, including three in La Crosse. More than 100 anglers took off from the West Copeland Avenue and Clinton Street ramps Saturday morning, fishing the Mississippi along Pool 7, 8 and 9.
The series heads to Prairie du Chien on August 20 before returning to La Crosse on September 17.
