Loggers blow lead late, fall back in playoff race

Dillon Paulson delivered the go-ahead two-run single with two outs in the ninth and the Duluth Huskies dampened the La Crosse Loggers playoff hopes with a 3-2 win Sunday.

La Crosse (17-12, 34-31 overall) now trails Willmar by 2.5 games for the final wild card spot in the Northwoods League postseason. The team has six games remaining in the regular season, four at Copeland Park.

Gavin Johns hit a 2-run home run for the Loggers in the loss.

The Loggers continue their homestand Monday night with the first of two games against Mankato. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
