The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is telling drivers to expect some short delays Wednesday afternoon as they continue the process of removing parts of the old I-90 bridge over the Mississippi River.
Their plans call for traffic to stop on I-90 in both directions for about 15 minutes Wednesday afternoon between 1-2 p.m. as crews work to take down one of the bridge piers.
The pier is one of three that are in the navigation channel in the Mississippi River.
As with highway traffic, MnDOT said river traffic will also be stopped around the construction area during that time.
MnDOT said similar traffic stoppages are planned during the removal of the other two piers. The dates and times haven't been announced by MnDOT.
