Trey Davis threw three touchdown passes to CJ Siegel and the Logan Rangers opened a new era at Swanson Field with a 32-7 win over Eau Claire North Friday.
It was the first game on the newly-renovated field, complete with artificial field turf and a resurfaced track. The project will also include renovations to the school's softball field.
"It was a great win to open the new field, we just wanted to come out here and get a victory on the new field," said senior quarterback Trey Davis. "Me and CJ (Siegel) have some good chemistry. We had good chemistry all week and then now hopefully that just keeps us rolling for the rest of the season."
Andy Metcalf and Siegel had touchdown grabs for Logan (1-1), who opened a 20-0 lead in the second quarter. The Huskies scored a late touchdown in the first half to close within 20-7 at the break.
There was no scoring in the third quarter, but on the first play of the fourth quarter, Davis rolled right and found Siegel for a 9-yard touchdown to give Logan a 26-7 lead.
North responded with an impressive drive, but the Rangers defense stood tall on the goal line, stopping the Huskies inside the 2-yard line.
Logan opens MVC play with a trip to Tomah next Friday night.
