Expect Sell Out Crowds at Badgers-LSU Game at Lambeau

Posted: Updated:

With a capacity of just over 80-thousand people, Lambeau Field will be a home away from home for the Badgers when they host LSU in the first ever major college football game to be played in Green Bay, making the season opener one of the hottest tickets in the country.

These two teams have seen each other before. They played each other to open the 2014 season. A sold out crowd is expected once again, and most fans paid a pretty penny to watch a football game.

"Definitely in the suites. I know we had suites going for forty thousand dollars." Said Amy Borowski of Event USA in Green Bay. Amy deals with all things tickets when it comes to big football games at Lambeau Field. Even a college game with ticket prices comparable to the NFL.

"They were higher, I would say more then a regular Packer game, because tickets were harder to get." Said Borowski. "Now that tickets are more available the pricing has come down."

High ticket prices won't slow down the LSU crowd. Borowski says three-fourths of the game packages they have sold have been to LSU fans. Wisconsin received 40-thousand tickets to  20-thousand that was given to LSU but still expect the Tigers to be in strong numbers.

"Actually we started working on this two years ago with the LSU alumni." Borowski said. "So it's been something that we have been working on for quite a while."

UW Athletic Director Barry Alvarez says he has been in talks with the Packers of future UW games to be played here at Lambeau Field. The Badgers have a current vacancy to their 2018 season opener.
