A 10-year-old Ayrshire from Cecil is chosen as the 2016 Cow of the Year in Wisconsin.
The state's Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) announced the choice Friday.
"Dreamer" was bred at Grand-View Ayrshires, which has been recognized as a top Ayrshire breeder according to DATCP.
"Dreamer" will be recognized with the honor during the World Dairy Expo next Month in Madison.
According to DATCP, the Wisconsin Purebred Cattle Association chooses a cow to represent her breed as the Cow of the Year at the expo. The honor is rotated annually between the seven major dairy breeds.
