Children at UW-La Crosse's Child Care Center made their way through campus accompanied by the Screaming Eagles Marching band, as well as faculty and staff members.
The annual Oktoberfest parade took place at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning between Wittich Hall and the Mississippi Valley Archeology Center.
Chancellor Joe Gow said this particular event is his favorite every year.
"It is so great to see all the young kids and their parents who all work here at the university. I mean this truly is a family event for us and it's great to see the enthusiasm," said Gow.
The kids were adorned in lederhosen, crowns, and Oktoberfest sashes decorated with painted maple leaves that they made for the occasion.
Gow said it's a unique time for faculty and staff at the university to see their kids in a fun, interactive setting between classes and work.
"You can see it's sort of a special time when mom and dad get to be with their kids that maybe they wouldn't on a week day when everybody is at work. So it reminds us that the Child Center we have is just top notch and we're so very fortunate to have that," expressed Gow.
