La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -

Viterbo athletes, faculty members, and alumni made their way to the university's new outdoor athletics complex building on Saturday for a blessing and building dedication.

The building which took 6 months to construct features public restrooms, locker rooms, a contemporary training room, and a state of the art concession stand. Formerly students had to change into their uniforms on campus and potter potties were placed at the complex.

Viterbo soccer player Erika Schultz is excited to finally have a facility close to the field she plays on.

"It makes this outdoor athletic complex so much more like home. We used to have to change on campus and meet hours before games because we wouldn't have time to do it out here at the field. This gives us so much more meaning to our sport and everything. It means so much to us," said Schultz.

Viterbo's sports complex is home to 130 student athletes.
