On Monday, Oct. 10, Houston Public Schools went into a modified lockdown after police discovered a potential credible threat on Facebook.
During the modified lockdown, students’ academics weren't disrupted, but they weren't allowed to exit the building and visitors weren't allowed to enter.
Houston Preschool, Houston Elementary and Houston High Schools parents were informed of the potential threat, and given information concerning the end of the day's dismissal.
Before the end of the school day, the person who made the threat confessed, and it was found to be a misguided prank.
The Houston Police Dept. have since arrested the male juvenile because of the online threat, as a probable terroristic threat.
The suspect is not yet charged.
