A number of issues were discussed Tuesday night by candidates for two seats on the state Assembly.
Candidates for the 94th and 96th Assembly met at UW-La Crosse in a debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
In the first debate, incumbent 94th Assembly State Representative Steve Doyle and Julian Bradley discussed topics such as the gas tax, tuition costs for the UW system, and health care funding.
In the 96th Assembly debate, the same issues were discussed, along with several questions related to farming, agriculture, trade, and the environment.

Both debates will air on WXOW on Sunday, October 30. The 96th Assembly debate airs at 12:30 p.m., followed by the 94th Assembly debate at 4 p.m.

The debates are in the Port O' Call room in Cartwright Center at UW-La Crosse.
Starting at 7 p.m., incumbent Democrat Rep. Steve Doyle debates Republican challenger Julian Bradley as they vie for the 94th Assembly seat.
The debate is scheduled for one hour.
Following a brief break, candidates for the 96th Assembly, incumbent Republican Rep. Lee Nerison faces Democrat challenger Alicia Leinberger.
That debate, too, is scheduled for one hour.
The debates will be live streamed on WXOW.com starting at 7 p.m.
They will also be rebroadcast on WXOW-TV. The 96th Assembly debate airs at 12:30 p.m. on October 30, with the 94th Assembly debate airing later that day at 4 p.m.
The League of Women Voters is sponsoring the debates. Co-Sponsors include WXOW, WKBT, La Crosse Tribune, WLSU Radio, and the UW-La Crosse Political Science Department.
