The Onalaska Enhancement Foundation will host their 7th annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Onalaska Armory. People can stop by on November 24th anytime from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. A few things you can expect to see on the menu include turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce. The foundation is expecting to feed over 1,000 people this year.
The meal is put on for the community, by the community with many businesses and individuals helping out by donating items, and volunteering time.
"It started off for a couple different reasons. To bring people together in the community who wanted to celebrate the fact that we live in such a great city, and then also there's a need for meals. A lot of people wouldn't be having Thanksgiving meal together as a family or as neighbors unless we put this event on," said Tom Brewer, President of the foundation.
If you are not able to attend the dinner but would like to receive a meal at home, call 608-205-8710 before the 24th to have one delivered. The dinner is open to the public and is free for all to attend.
