A group of students at Logan High School helped fellow classmates prepare for winter driving Thursday afternoon.
The "Trunk Junk" campaign is a collaborative effort among State Farm, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) in an effort to raise awareness about winter driving safety. The group helped clean out the trunks of students leaving school and make sure they had all the necessary items and equipment for winter driving such as jumper cables, blankets, and window scrapers.
"It's important because people who are in high school driving, it's like their first couple years driving and we just want them to be prepared for any condition that might happen," says Logan Senior and SADD club member, Tyanna Washa.
Students who already had the proper winter safety items in their vehicles were rewarded with gift cards from Subway or BP gas station.
