While in many counties in Wisconsin the presidential recount began, it will be a few more days before it starts in La Crosse County.
That's because the county is in the middle of the recount for the 32nd Senate District race.
Republican Dan Kapanke requested the recount after the initial vote had him trailing incumbent Democrat Senator Jennifer Shilling by 56 votes out of more than 62,000 cast.
La Crosse County Clerk Ginny Dankmeyer said that they should finish the counting ballots for the 32nd sometime Friday. "We're hoping the reconciliation of the poll books and the absentee will be accepted from this work so then all we're doing for the presidential is counting ballots. We expect that to take about three days," she said.
Dankmeyer said the presidential recount will start Monday morning.
