Viterbo held their commitment ceremony for the nursing class of 2019 on August 9.
A day for Sophomores to receive their name pins for nursing clinicals, and to make their international nursing pledge. A pledge students make promising to care for the sick with all the skill they possess, respect every patient regardless of demographics, and more.
Many schools have a pinning ceremony towards the end of their nursing program, but few have a commitment ceremony providing a chance for students to commit to the profession of nursing.
The ceremony encourages students to be professionals that go above and beyond while incorporating love into every interaction. Including words from faculty members and students regarding the joys nursing can bring, and the passion it takes.
The ceremony was made possible with a grant from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation.
