The American Cancer Society hosted the 2nd Annual Tailgate for Life event at Shenanigans in La Crosse on Sunday afternoon.
For only $5, people could watch the Packers vs. Seahawks game on the big screen while enjoying tailgating food and drinks from Howie's, Old Crow, Jimmy's North Star and Outback Steakhouse.
Organizers said the event turns to a favorite Wisconsin pastime to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer.
"We know that Packer football is very near and dear to all of our hearts, and so is cancer," said Alex Deshler, Community Development Manager for the local American Cancer Society. "So, we put the two together--we hate one, we love one--bring them together to raise some awareness."
A raffle at the tailgate featured goods and services from local businesses.
All of the money raised from the event supports local cancer patients in La Crosse. It also funds national research to find the cure for cancer.
