A group of Coulee Region fitness professionals are collaborating to create what they hope is Wisconsin's Largest Workout right here in La Crosse.
The free, hour-long session will take place at UW-La Crosse's Veteran's Memorial Sports Complex on September 16 at 4 p.m. Members of the non-profit organization N.E.W. Coulee Region will be on hand before and after to answer questions. Open to people of all abilities, the goal is to help people find fitness that fits their lives.
Nick Roush from Root Down Yoga said, "It's connection. It's community. It's not just this physical practice. It's a lot of things beyond that. I think one of the biggest things we offer is just that connection, that place and space. We're all here for a common thing."
"There are so many health benefits that come from being active," said nurse Leah Misch. "It can alleviate a lot of medications down the road."
There's no need to preregister, but if you'd like to check it out ahead of time, N.E.W. Coulee Region is on Facebook. With rain in the forecast, organizers say the weather site for Wisconsin's Largest Workout is the La Crosse Wellness Center on Highway 16.
