Gophers fall in conference opener

Gophers are looking to stay undefeated while hosting Maryland. 

First quarter, Max Bortenschlager keeps it for himself and scores off a 7 yard touchdown run. Terrapins are up 7-0. 

Minnesota coming back the other way  a few drives later, Rodney Smith pounds into the end zone for the 1 yard score. 7-7. 

A few minutes before the half, and Bortenschlager goes long to D.J. Moore in the end zone. The 27 yard touchdown pass extends the Gophers lead 14-7. 

Third quarter, Maryland is now leading 17-10, and Conor Rhoda goes over the middle to Brandon Lingen for the touchdown to tie the game at 17-17.

Fourth quarter, play action and Bortenschlager finds Jake Funk who dives into the end zone and Terrapins take a 24-17 lead.

They keep the lead and win 31-24 over the Gophers.
