Restoration of the Riverside Park Bandshell will move ahead. The Common Council unanimously released $1.1 million in funding for the project at a meeting on Thursday night.
The bandshell was built in 1930 with renovations in 1986. The current project will make the bandshell ADA compliant while improving the exterior.
"It's a really big thing for the City of La Crosse," said Jay Odegaard with the La Crosse Parks and Recreation Department. "Riverside is such a well utilized facility in La Crosse, and the bandshell obviously is kind of the top of the hill, so we're really pleased. We're really excited to really sit down and make it a top-notch facility."
Odegaard said he hopes to see the project completed by 2018.
