Big game for both teams. If West Salem wins, they take the conference title out right. If Onalaska wins, they share the title.
It's the second straight year these two have met in the season finale with the conference title on the line.
First quarter and the Panthers first drive, Brendan Holt pounds it into the end zone for the first score of the game. Panthers up 7-0.
Hilltoppers now, and Noah Skifton sees Nathan Lubinsky wide open for the touchdown. The 33 yard touchdown pass ties the game at 7-7.
Second quarter now, and more from Onalaska and more from Lubinsky. Lubinsky takes the hand off up the middle and goes 29 yards to put the Hilltoppers in the lead. It's now 13-7 after the missed extra point.
Hilltoppers now up 21-7,and Jake Whitbeck fumbles on the kick off return. The Hilltoppers recover the fumble.
On the next drive, Skifton goes over the top to Ray Heilman. The Hilltoppers extend their lead over the panthers to 28-7.
Now seconds before the end of the half, and Ryan Beirne is set for the field goal, but the Hilltoppers block the kick, and Ryan Miller comes up with it.
Moving to the third quarter, the Panthers are trying to get something going but there is a miss-communication on the hand off, and Christian Oliver recovers the fumble and goes the distance to put the Hilltoppers up 42-7.
Onalaska goes onto win 42-21. Onalaska, West Salem, and Holmen share the conference title. Nathan Lubinksy leading the way for the Hilltoppers tonight with three touchdowns.
"We prepared all week, and when it was time to execute, we executed," Lubinksy said. " We never let up, and it was a great overall team win. We are peaking at the right time and we should be a dangerous team in the playoffs."
