UWL's student ran radio station, RAQ Radio, held their 6th annual chili cook-off today.
Organizations from around the community had an opportunity to put their chili to the test.
This year's winner is Murphy Shannon with his Pineapple Paradise chili.
"I used sweet Italian sausage and pineapple in my chili, so a little Hawaiian chili action," Murphy describes, "It's a little bit different on the taste buds than previous chilis that people have tried, so it's kind of that wow factor that people are looking for."
The event not only offers a chance to try various kinds of chili but contributes to other organizations in the area as well.
"We raised over $400 for the coulee region humane society," elaborates cook-off organizer Colin Malliet, "So it was definitely a success and we had a great night, everyone seemed to enjoy all the chili, and we just had a really really good time."
All proceeds from the chili cook-off benefit the Coulee Region Humane Society.
