Caledonia is ready to add to it's long and successful legacy of football success.
The Warriors are getting ready to play Paynesville in a Class AA semifinal Thursday.
Caledonia will be chasing it's 40th straight win and are two wins away from their third consecutive state title.
They've only been tested once, that was in their first meeting against Triton when they had to rally to win that one in the 4th quarter.
Even though the results are similar to the last two seasons this year's squad has forged it's own identity.
"This year, our defense, we got new guys and mainly our whole offensive line we have new guys. We still have Owen King as our quarterback and the same wide receivers. I'd say we're doing pretty good this year compared to last year," said lineman Riley Cordes.
"I'd say we're a little bit smaller here, just a smaller o-line and d-line. Other than that not much is different. It's the same status quo for us. Same type of kid with great desire," said head coach Carl Fruechte.
Caledonia and Paynesville kickoff at 2 PM Thursday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
