The Seven Rivers Robotics Coalition Received a donation from Ashley Furniture Saturday morning. Ashley donated a 20,000 dollar check to help start a new robotics team in Arcadia as well as help other area robotics teams.
The Seven Rivers Robotics Coalition is a part of First Robotics, which includes ten teams from the area who all work together to help train, teach, and educate students about robotics.
The goal of the program is to transform students to become future engineers and programmers of this area. Seven Rivers Coalition executive director Mark Moulton says that the donation will help grow the program to get as many students involved as possible.
"Our goal is always to spread first. We want to make sure as many students get involved as possible and Ashley is helping with that. Getting that new team in Arcadia is huge and we are hoping that once they get started it becomes one team in Arcadia, one in Trempealeau, one in Galesville and keeps spreading farther and farther. We as a coalition are here to help, whatever we can do to make that happen is what we are going to do"
The Seven Rivers Coalition also hosted a training session this morning at Luther High School. Students at the event attended sessions throughout the school to learn more about First Robotics
