Thomas Roberts brings his collection of Tibetan Singing Bowls to the Franciscan Spirituality Center once a month to help those seeking a unique way to tap into their consciousness.
Roberts says the singing bowls produce sounds that invoke deep states of relaxation, naturally assisting one in entering expanded states of consciousness and meditation.
Ancient healers believe our entire body acts as memory storage, much like a tree has rings that record its history. Sound vibrations can help soften blocked energy and even release it so our body-mind becomes more balanced, creative and fluid.
The Sounds of Bowls is offered on the second Tuesday of the month at the Franciscan Spirituality Center from September through May.
Later this month Roberts is hosting an all day event. The Sound and the Silence: A Singing Bowls Retreat takes place January 20 from 9 am until 4 pm.
The cost is $45 and includes lunch.
