After months of fighting bad weather conditions during construction La Crescent's new Springbrook senior living facility is getting ready for new residents.
Several of the 80 available apartments have been reserved verbally already. Springbrook has one more licensure step before residents can physically begin moving in. They expect that to happen by early February.
"A 10 million dollar investment in our community is huge," said La Crescent Mayor Mike Poellinger. "This is a commercial property so they will be paying all of the taxes, they'll be employing a number of people, so it's like a big business moving into our community."
"[There's] lots and lots of interest," said Springbrook's Housing and Community Outreach Specialist Tina Antony. "Not just in moving in in the future, but there are a great many people who are ready to move in immediately."
Towards the end of February, Springbrook will be offering open houses. For more information, contact Tina Antony at (608) 793-5124.
