It is almost the time of year that girl scouts start to sell their cookies around the area, but before they can start to sell they need to learn how.
That is the goal of the Girl Scout of Wisconsin Badgerland's Cookie Palooza on January 21.
The event teaches Daisies, Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth grade the entrepreneurial skills needed to sell cookies.
From nutritional information to learning how to advertise their sales, the Cookie Palooza focuses on providing Girls Scouts with more skills than just being able to sell cookies.
"They are also learning about how to talk to individuals that they don't know and how to approach customers and also be able to do it safely," describes Courtney Feuquay, Senior Program Manager for the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland.
Feuquay continues, "It's all got a really fun flare to it and it's all in fun games and activities, but it's teaching them those important life skills as well."
Girl Scout cookie season officially starts February 3.
