Holmen, WI (WXOW) -

Fourth and Fifth grade students at Sand Lake Elementary School in Holmen are getting some cutting edge resources for their Technology Club.

On Thursday, the club and teacher AnnMarie Dahl, was awarded a Tools for Schools check for $750 from WXOW, Brenengen Auto, SSE Music, and Dependable Solutions.

The club gives students experience solving real-world problems using computer programming and coding.

Dahl said the money will go for robots and other supplies that will allow the students to keep current on the technology. "The teamwork, the critical thinking and the excitement about science, technology, about working together and the excitement when you actually solve the problem is fabulous for their self esteem and their confidence in learning."

Each month, WXOW, Dependable Solutions, SSE Music, and Brenengen Auto help one teacher or class with an award.
