La Crosse moved a step closer Thursday night to expand its fire stations and offer leases for boat owners in the La Crosse Municipal Boat Harbor.
The city's Finance & Personnel Committee unanimously approved the Fire Station Planning Task Force recommendation.
The vote does not approve specific details of the plan. Instead, it directs city staff to do further analysis and research on implementing a five fire station system. The recommendations include replacing three current stations, remodeling a fourth, and building a new fifth station in the city.
Later in the meeting, committee members also unanimously approved a recommendation from the Parks Board regarding the La Crosse Municipal Boat Harbor. The resolution included terms and conditions of the new harbor as well as Live-a-Board Agreements.
The Parks Board previously revised the resolution based off of input from boat owners.
Both resolutions will go before La Crosse Common Council next Thursday.
