Community and business leaders met for a night of celebration Wednesday.
Great Rivers United Way's 68th annual meeting took place at the Radisson Center. Organization members celebrated their accomplishments over the past year while handing out various awards to five volunteers and businesses. The organization also announced the campaign co-chairs for next year, Tim Kolek with US Bank and Rob Palmberg with Dairyland Power Cooperative. Palmberg says he's excited to get out and get people donating.
"We're really probably all about drawing enthusiasm," Palmberg said. "We work with United Way to set goals for the campaign year. I think it's more about drawing enthusiasm and trying to get people excited about giving to the United Way and helping them understand all the great work the United Way does throughout the year."
United Way and the campaign chairs say they will get busy with planning for this year's campaign which kicks off in July.
The five individuals and organizations honored Wednesday evening are:

Advocate Award: Jen Rombalski
Volunteer Award: Mike Spinner
Live United Award: Dakota Supply Group
Power of 1 Award: Kyle Lang.
