Onalaska, WI (WXOW) -

Authorities are looking for a man passing counterfeit checks around Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The fake check incidents happened between January 25-30 in Onalaska, Mauston, Sturtevant, Baraboo, and Rochester.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department said a person living there had her checking account information taken by unknown means.

The person seen in the pictures then began writing counterfeit checks using the victim's checking account and routing information.

The photos of the suspect are from January 25. One photo shows the man at the Shopko store in Onalaska as he returned a TV and received a cash refund. The other photos are from the Mauston Shopko store several hours earlier.

The man was also at a Menards store in Rochester.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Menomonee Falls Police Department at (262) 532-8700 reference case # 18-002984.
