On Friday night, the Onalaska Police Chief, Jeffrey Trotnic, tendered his resignation.
News 19 reached out to both Onalaska Mayor Joe Chilsen and City Council President Bob Muth, and both city officials did confirm Trotnic's tendered resignation.
Currently, no party will confirm if that resignation has been accepted, or divulge the circumstances that led Trotnic to offer the resignation.
Trotnic has been employed as the Onalaska Chief of Police since September 2008.
This is a developing story that we'll update as new information becomes available.
