A lot of people soaked up the sun Saturday at Pettibone Park, forcing cops to come in to direct traffic.
Over 1,000 people came out to the park to have some fun. La Crosse police stopped allowing cars into the park to help allow an emergency vehicle lane in case it was needed.
Those who came out to the beach said they didn't expect to see this many people.
"This is going to be a memory for a long time because like I said this is the first time that it's happened in a long time," Joshua Hernandez said. "It's a beautiful day, beautiful weather and it's just perfect to be outside and have a good time with a lot of people."
La Crosse Police also put on their Facebook page Pettibone Park will be closed to vehicular traffic due to high water.
