Local organizations that help moms: The Parenting Place

Posted: Updated:

During the week ahead of Mother's Day, News 19 Daybreak is featuring some local organizations that help area moms. Jodi Widuch, Executive Director of The Parenting Place, joined us to talk about two programs they offer. The Parenting Place can help you:

  • Learn parenting tips and skills
  • Interact with other parents
  • Discover resources in your own community
  • Understand the stages of child development
  • Borrow books, toys and resources
  • Find the best options for child care
  • Our programs, referrals and resources are available to any parent or caregiver FREE of charge.

Their organization has many groups and Parent Connection welcomes moms, dads, grandparents or caregivers who are looking for a place to unwind and share the joys and challenges of parenting with other parents. Connect over coffee and conversation while toddlers and preschoolers play in our adjoining supervised playroom. No need to register. You can look at their events calendar for times, dates and locations.

Play Shoppe is a shared time for parents and their children, ages birth to five years of age. Join us for one of our Play Shoppes to enjoy open-ended playtime, a simple art activity, circle and story time and a snack. Registration is not required.
