COON VALLEY, Wis. (WXOW) -

An Onalaska woman is injured when a car pins her and her motorcycle underneath the car in a crash near Coon Valley Monday afternoon.

The Vernon County Sheriff's Office said Linnea Rice, 45, of Onalaska was stopped behind a turning vehicle at the intersection of Highway 14 and County B shortly after 4 p.m.

As the motorcycle and car waited, another westbound vehicle, driven by Allison Hawthorne, 21, of Westby, became distracted by an oversized load caravan and took her eyes off the road. Her vehicle hit Rice and her motorcycle. Both the motorcycle and Rice were pinned underneath Hawthorne's car, which also struck the turning vehicle.

With the help of the drivers, and passersby who stopped to help, Rice was able to get out from under the Hawthorne vehicle.

Rice, who wasn't wearing a helmet according to the sheriff's office, went by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

Neither Hawthorne or the other driver, Sherry Coleman, 53, of Westby, were injured in crash.

Highway 14 was closed for two hours while emergency workers were at the scene.
