The Coulee Region Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for some of their cats. From May 8-10 all "extended stay" cats will be up for adoption, free of charge.
An extended stay cat is a cat who has been at the shelter for more than a month. The cats who are available for adoption free of charge have their kennels marked with little suitcases that are filled with toys to go home with them.
Members of the CRHS encourage people to come visit the cats, "If your even just kind of considering owning a cat you know you don't have to be gung ho right away and we can talk you through some things if you have some questions but we really just encourage people to come down and take a look. And if you can't adopt maybe you can foster or maybe you can support us some other way or volunteer. So we really just want people to come down and see what we have got going on here," said community outreach director Taylor Bates.
The free adoption period will last from until Thursday. The Coulee Region Humane Society is open until 7 p.m.
