Residents looking to move but want to get rid of larger items they don't need will have the option to do so coming up soon.
Large Item Pick Up in La Crosse begins on May 14. On the same day as your recycling service, you can put up to 5 items out for pick-up (there will be two pick-ups each time). No e-waste like computers or TV's will be taken, nor will appliances. Residents are encouraged not to keep more than 5 items out per pick up.
"Pretty much everything after that can be picked up," Hiltopper Refuse and Recycling VP Gary Hougom said. "Beds, mattresses, tables, chairs, couches... your large items of your house that you don't put out for your regular weekly pick-up."
Hilltopper Refuse and Recycling out of Onalaska will be providing this service for the City of La Crosse. Large Item Pick Up will run from May 14 to June 8.
