The students at Northside Elementary got the chance to participate in some mindful exercise along with hip music.
It was made possible by Bay area visiting artist JusTme. Students gathered in the gym and learned concepts like self-regulation and calming strategies. They gained the skills while laughing, listening and dancing.
"Just the energy that they bring and how mature they really are once we give them a shot to just be themselves. They are phenomenal at taking in these abstract concepts and making them super simple, integrating them into their day to day lives," said JusTme.
The visit and activities at Northside were made possible in part to a grant from the La Crosse Public Education Foundation.
