A court appearance on Friday for a La Crosse man charged in a violent confrontation with an investigator trying to serve papers to garnish his wages.
The investigator worked for the Central States Investigation Agency out of La Crosse.
According to the criminal complaint, police say 43-year-old Timothy A. Hass tried to strangle and suffocate the man after he served Hass the papers on Thursday. The altercation stopped when a neighbor intervened.
Hass faces felony strangulation and suffocation charges along with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct.
He is due back in court for a preliminary appearance on May 17.
