Only 25 teams advanced to the final round of the Cabela's National Championship Tournament on Saturday. The tournament was only recently moved from the Quad Cities to La Crosse, and it was very fitting that a La Crosse team came out on top.
That team was Martin Kirchner and Michael McCormick of La Crosse. They weighed in at 14 pounds-16 ounces on Saturday leading to their total of 44 pounds-15 ounces. That was enough to edge out Prairie Du Chien's Paul and Kate De Voss.
First place won 25,000 dollars as well as a Mercury Powered Ranger Boat. The De Voss family also received a boat as they were first out of the Ranger Cup qualifying teams.
