Holmen, WI (WXOW) -

Three area singles player and one doubles team will test themselves against Wisconsin's best at the WIAA State Tennis Tournament this week.

One of them is Kao Xiong of Holmen.

Xiong qualified for State after winning his quarterfinals match at the Sectionals in Eau Claire last week.

He became the first Holmen singles player in over 17 years to make it to State.

"From the beginning of my freshman year my biggest goal was to get to State.  I tried to get there each year but I couldn't.  This year was a huge success for me so I was very happy about it," Xiong said.
