Arcadia, WI (WXOW) - -
Arcadia will no longer be receiving river readings or flood forecasts for the Trempealeau River.
Due to a loss of funding, the river monitoring equipment at Arcadia has been shut down. The National Weather Service will continue to provide areal flood warnings for larger portions of the area when necessary. However, river forecasts for the Trempealeau River at Dodge will continue.
The discontinuation comes as a surprise to some because the automated river monitoring equipment in Arcadia was installed in July 2013.
The loss of this river monitoring equipment make it impractical to continue providing forecasts for Arcadia.
